Class & Workshop Questions
What should I wear to a pottery class?
Wear comfy clothes that you don’t mind getting clay on, and closed-in shoes are essential. Long hair tied back is recommended.
Do you provide all tools and materials?
For our workshops yes. Clay, tools, aprons, and use of equipment and all firings are all included in your class. For our weekly lessons (coming January 2026) you are required to purchase your own clay, everything else is included in the fee.
When do I pick up my item/s?
When the final firing is completed you are able to pick up your items. This is usually around 7 days from completion of the workshop. You will be advised of at least 2 pick up windows. Should these not suit we can organise a time convenient for you to pick up. Items not picked up will be kept for a maximum of 3 months from class date after which they will be disposed of.
What final outcome can I expect when it comes to my pottery piece?
Due to the nature of ceramics, we cannot guarantee the final outcome of your pieces. Most of the time the outcome is truly impressive! However, especially whilst learning and for many other reasons due to clay being quite unpredictable, variations such as cracks, chips, warping, glaze changes, or firing imperfections may occur. They can also occur from time to time no matter how much experience you have!
These results are a normal part of the learning and ceramic process and are not considered faults per se. By participating in a class, you acknowledge and accept these natural risks inherent to pottery making and we encourage you to focus on the experience and learning this craft brings, rather than expecting perfection. Handwork is mostly always perfectly imperfect which is the first place isw! Remember it’s not mass produced with machines!
